Below you will find our guidelines for preparation of your oral or poster presentation as well as things to remember before and during the conference.
Independently from if you are scheduled for an oral presentation or a poster presentation, it is important to stay on time. When you have 1 minute left, the moderator will notify you for your convenience.
All oral presentations scheduled for a Podium Presentation will be in competition for the Best Oral Presentation Award, while presentations scheduled for the Gudbjartsson Award Session will be in competition for the Gudbjartsson Award. All posters scheduled for a Poster Presentation will be in competition for the Best Poster Presentation Award. Presentations will be judged on a number of criteria. Adherence to the recommendations below increases the visual impression and understanding of the presentations. Creative interpretations of the task will be acknowledged.
All presenters will have the possibility of receiving feedback on their presentation. Read more about the feedback concept on the feedback page.
Oral presentations include presentations that are to be presented in both the Podium Presentation Sessions as well as the Gudbjartsson Award Session. Presenters scheduled for an oral presentation in the Podium Presentation Sessions and the Gudbjartsson Award Session have a maximum of 8 minutes for the presentation followed by 5 minutes of discussion by the moderator and audience. Oral presentations must be given in English and comply with the below guidelines.
Any software can be used to prepare your presentation. However, the file will be converted into a PowerPoint file format to merge all presentations into one for optimization of the flow of presentations during the conference. It is the responsibility of the presenter that the presentation is displayed correctly at the conference. Therefore, it will be possible to test the presentation 30 minutes ahead of the first session of the day. We kindly ask you to send us your presentation at ssrcts@gmail.com latest 48 hours prior to your presentation. Movies and animations in slideshows should be attached in the email and tested, when it is possible, at least 30 minutes ahead of the first session of the day.
Make sure to identify yourself to the chairmen of your session prior to start. The session chairs will introduce you to the audience. It is important to stay on time. When you have 2 minutes left of your time, the moderator will notify you for your convenience.
Poster presentations include presentations that are to be presented in the Poster Presentation Sessions. Presenters scheduled for a poster presentation in the Poster Presentation Sessions have a maximum of 3 minutes to present their posters followed by 5 minutes of discussion by the moderator and audience. Posters must be written and presented in English as well as comply with the below guidelines.

The posters should be on display from the start of the conference until the final presentation of the last day. The presenter is responsible for displaying the poster at the designated spot in the conference room (each poster will be given an ID no which will also be sent to the author by email). The poster session will be moderated by a chairman and the presenter should be in front of their respective posters at the time of the presentation, and will be expected to participate in the entire poster session.
